Larry Joseph Wells, 55, Kokomo, died at 11 a.m. June 9, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Wells was a tool and die journeyman for Chrysler Casting Plant for 35 years. He graduated from Frankfort High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1960-66. He was a member of the Kokomo Eagles Club and lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
He was born 10 Jan. 1942 in Fort Leavenworth, Kan. to Paul Joseph and Evelyn Lucile Howe Wells. He married Patricia Ann Johnson in Kokomo on May 15, 1977, and she survives.
He also is survived by his mother of Frankfort; two sons, Edwin Wells of White Lake, Mich. and Garry Hancock of Kokomo; three daughters, Mrs. Justin (Evelyn) Short of Kokomo, and Mrs. Tom (Christine) Connaker and Deborah Wells, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Eugene (Rebecca) Hobson of Orrville, Ohio; and eight grand-daughters.
His father preceded him in death. ... Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo.

Patricia A. (Wells) Estes, 71, Greentown, passed away at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo.
She was born December 24, 1946, in Brilliant, Alabama, to Jack and Estella (Burleson) Johnson. She married Larry J. Wells on May 15, 1977, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1997. She married Walter Max Estes on August 11, 2012, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2016.
She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1965 and went on to attend Indiana Business College.
She had worked for United Presidential Life Insurance in quality assurance. She was a member of Jerome Christian Church. She volunteered on the show home committee and volunteered many years working in the We Care store and for We Care.
Patricia is survived by her children, Garry Douglas (Brent) Hancock, Marion, Deborah Wells, Phoenix, Arizona, Evelyn (Justin) Short, Kokomo, Ed (Tina) Wells, Sharpsberg, Georgia and Christine C. (Tom) Connaker, Phoenix, Arizona; stepson, Mark (Virginia) Estes; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and brother, Jim (Marilee) Johnson, Xenia, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St, Greentown. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Stokes and Bill Schaffer officiating. Burial in Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo, will follow the service.
