CLAUDE R. WALTS DROPS DEAD IN LOS ANGELES
Claude R Walts, for many years a resident of Reno, dropped dead Saturday afternoon as he was leaving his office in Los Angeles, word received in Reno states. He had spent a vacation the previous week with his brothers and sisters in Reno and at that time was enjoying good health. Heart failure is believed to be the cause of death.
He was born in Reno on August 16, 1886, and was raised to manhood in this valley. He was associated with his father and brothers in the livestock business, and twelve years ago became connected with the Bissinger Company as a wool buyer, first at Salt Lake and later removing to Southern California.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Barbara Walts; a son, George Walts; three brothers, Fred, Herb and Guy Walts, and a sister, Mrs. Bonnie Plath.
Funeral services will be held in Reno, with burial in the family plot of the Odd Fellows cemetery.

DEATH OF WALTS INVESTIGATED IN L.A.
Pending an investigation by the Los Angeles police, the body of Claude Walts, former Reno resident, who supposedly dropped dead while on his way home from work Saturday evening, is being held by the Los Angeles authorities.
It was stated at the time that death was due to heart failure, but a coroner's jury failed to sustain that theory, intimating that possibly the man had been murdered and robbed.
Walts was a native of Reno and visited relatives here about two weeks ago. He was forty-three years old.
Funeral services will be held here when the body is released by the Los Angeles officials. He was a brother of Fred, Herbert and Guy Walts and Mrs. Bonnie Plath, all of Reno.
