Listed in 1880 as Charles Murphy (28, OH) a farmer, wife Sarah B. (26, OH), daughters Anna M. (7) and Nellie M. (5). Also living with them were his parents William (76, OH) and Sarah (53, PA) as boarders.
By 1885 they had moved to Kansas and are listed there under the name Murphey.
In 1900 the family consisted of Chas W. (Dec 1851, OH) and Sarah B. (Apr 1852, OH) married 29 yrs with 2 children, but only Nellie M. (Jan 1875, OH) living with them.
Charles W. and Sarah B. Murphey were living with widowed daughter Anna M. Bruce (37, OH) and her daughter Ingrid (10, KS) in 1910, with Anna working as a Postmistress at the Post Office. Charles was also listed as a postal clerk. Still there for the 1915 Kansas state census.
He is listed as C. W. Murphey (68, OH) in 1920 working as a nursery salesman, with only wife Sarah (65, OH).
He died in 1922 and is buried in Altamont Cem in Coffey Co, KS, along with his wife who died in 1930.
