Grace Elizabeth "Betty" Lutz, age 88, of Minerva, and currently residing at St. Luke's, died Monday, March 18, 2013, in Minerva Eldercare. She was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Canal Fulton to Charles and Mae (Mickely) Colopy. She was a housewife and member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva and the Catholic Women's Club. She was the co-owner of Mark's Dairy Bar in Minerva.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Mark Lutz, whom she married Jan. 22, 1944; daughter, Dallas (Michael) Hoebeke of Alliance; three sons, Mark "Butch" Lutz of Columbus, Ernest Lutz of Columbus and Tom (Darlene) Lutz of Minerva; her dear, sweet youngest sister, Joann (James) Heffernan of Akron; four grandchildren, Stacie (Victor) Factora, Jason (Ashley) Lutz, Daniel (Wonmeen) Jun and Kimberly (Scott) Cassidy; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Marie, Lucille, Mary, Theresa and Ruth; and four brothers, Louis, Jim, John and Charles Colopy.
A Mass of Christian burial will be observed at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva, with the Rev. Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.
