Listed with his parents in Chateaugay, NY in 1850 (age 9) and 1860 (age 20).
On 1 Dec 1861, George Cook (20) of Chateaugay, NY enlisted in the Union Army. He enlisted in Company A, New York 96th Infantry Regiment on 16 Dec 1861, and was mustered out on 3 Apr 1862 at Alexandria, VA.
He apparently married Eunice during or shortly after the war.
Because, in the 1875 census for Bellmont, NY he is age 34, born in Vermont and married to Eunice (34, Clinton Co, NY) with their children Ernest (10), Edith (6) and Lilly (2 yrs, 3 mos). They are still in Bellmont in 1880 with George listed as a laborer (39, VT) with wife Eunice and children Ernest (15), Edith (11), Lillian (7) and Mary (2).
George is listed with daughter Edith Griffiin, husband Joel, and their 5 children in 1900. He is listed as 62 (Feb 1838), married 40 yrs and working as a guide. Both he and daughter Edith seem to have added 3 yrs to their ages.
Daughter Lillian Cook married James Griffin, and daughter Edith Cook married Joel Griffin, and both lived around Chateaugay.
