Robert was the 1st son.
Robert I. went with the family to Root when twelve years of age. Later worked at furniture or cabinet making at Johnstown(?) and returned to Englishtown, NJ and in June 1817 married Elizabeth English McChesney, the daughter of John McChesney and Elizabeth English, who built them a home at corner and opposite the hotel at that time kept by Henry I. Perrine, where they lived until about 1847-8.
