She lived with her grandparents Wm. & Lola O’Banion until after 1940, when she is listed as a telephone operator at age 20 after having completed 8th grade.

Passed away peacefully of Alzheimer's and a massive stroke. Our family will cherish her memory and do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. Thelma was pre-deceased by husband Raymond; survived by daughter, Raeane Brandes (Bob) and son, Rocky Leake (Linda); Sister, Nadine Baggarley: Grandchildren, Scott Brandes, Nicole Kilgore, Anne-Michelle Bakritzes, John Edwards, Kelli Crandall, Shelli Hogue, Cody Leake; and ten great grandchildren. Thelma was retired from Acalanes High School District where she was District Manager of Food Services. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, Fullerton, CA. assisted the family.
