In 1900 he is listed in Colorado as a gold miner (34, IL) with his wife Docilla E. (27, IL), his father Benjamin F. Wells, and his family; consisting of Mary H. (9), Lillian P. (8), Albert E. (5) and Garald (3) - all born in Colorado. They had been married 13 yrs, and 4 of their 5 children were still living.
In the same census, he is also listed with the family of his wife's brother-in-law, Charles Hocking (39, ENG). In this record he is listed as having been married 11 yrs, again with his wife and children and slightly different spellings of their names; but his father is not living with them.

Listed twice with her husband and children in 1900 - first with her sister’s family in Fall Creek as born Mar 1862 (age 28, so it should be 1872) , married 11 yrs; and second with her father-in-law in Goldfield as born in May 1873 married 13 yrs. In both cases 4 of their 5 children were living.
In 1910 she is listed as dressmaker (37, IL), working at home with 3 children living, and married 22 yrs.
