Mrs. Catherine Evans, widow of Joseph E, Evans, died Sunday, June 9 1946, at the home of her son, David C. Evans, Patapsco. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Richter and was 85 years of age. Her husband preceded her in death 30 years ago. Surviving are six children: David C. Evans, at whose home she died; Mrs. Gertrude Gesell, John H. Evans, Westminster; Mrs. Paul Ditman, Mrs. Thurman Fowler, and Mrs. Geneva Valentine, Baltimore; also 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral rites were conducted at the H Bankard & Son funeral home, Westminster. Wednesday at 2 P. M. Dr. Lowell S. Ensor, pastor of the Westminster Methodist church, officiated. Burial was in Carrollton Church of God Cemetery at Carrollton. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
