MANSFIELD -- Fred Brumm Sr., 81, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at his residence after a long illness.
Fred was born in November 4, 1922, living in the Mansfield area most his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, retired from Therm-O-Disc after 20 years and worked in the carpet and tile business for 15 years. His activities and hobby passions included his love for flowers-roses in particular as he won many beautification awards for his yard and home. He held a passionate love for his craft projects. Not one corner of his home wasn't touched by his creativity. Fred volunteered at Lexington Court Nursing Home for 9 years working activities with his daughter and bringing the residents ribbon flowers he made. He also spent 15 years packing boxes for flood victims in Berlin, Ohio and was on the board at Nightlife for 10 years. Fred and Millie loved the Lord and attended Mansfield Baptist Temple regularly He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all.
He is survived by the love of his life, Mildred M. Brumm with whom he spent 58 years in true companionship, being married on October 12, 1947; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary (Philip) Witschi, Nola (Paul) Pfeifer all of Mansfield; one son and daughter-in- law, Fritz (Mary) Brumm all of Mansfield; grandchildren, Brent (Brenda) Witschi, Kari (Steven) Longshore, Scot (Ericka) Pfeifer, Andrew (Angelique) Pfeifer Matt (Pam) Brumm, and Libby Brumm; great-grandchildren, Derik, Chris, Makaila, Kyle, Andrew, Kristin, and Brianna; and having one surviving sister, Margaret.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 14 brothers and sisters, and his granddaughter Rachel.
