Maria Brum and dau arrived in New York on 25 Apr 1907 aboard the Statendam from Rotterdam - headed for 51 4th Ave Mansfield, OH. Her last residence was listed as Tomasevac, Hungary, born in Franafeld, race German, and nationality Hungarian.
She lived in Mansfield the rest of her life and had many children. She apparently died in childbirth with her son Benjamin.

Listed as Gottfried Brüm when he arrived in NY from Rotterdam on 10 Dec 1906 aboard the Rijndam. He was listed as Slovakian, born in Mramonak, Hungary, last residence in Tomasevac, Hungary; occupation Joiner, and headed for 62 4th Ave, Mansfield.
Wife Maria and dau Marie arrived on 25 Apr 1907 aboard the Statendam - headed for 51 4th Ave Mansfield.
In 1910, he is listed as a laborer (26, Hungary) and married 9 yrs to Mary (29, HUN), with dau Mary (7, HUN) and sons Godfried (3, OH) and John (6 mos, OH).
In 1920 the family consisted of Godfrey (36, GER) a carpenter, wife Mary (29, GER), Mary A. (16, GER), Godfrey (13, OH), John (11), Dorothy (8), Fredie (4), Barbara (2 3/12), and Henry (11/12).
In 1930 he is listed as age 47 (Jugoslavia) first married at age 20, married and a carpenter. No wife is listed, but his sister Barbara (45, Jugoslavia) is listed next, then children Dorothy (18), Barbara (12), Henry (11), Phillip W. (10), Martha E. (8), Fred (7), Margaret C. (6), Katherine K. (5), and Benjamin P. (3 10/12).
He was re-married Frances, who died in 1939, and then to Flora, who is listed as his wife in 1942 and as the step-mother in Benjamin's obit.
In the 1940 census for Washington Twp, Richland Co, he is listed as a widowed carpenter (52, Austria-Hungary) working in a stove factory, who completed 4th grade and had submitted citizenship papers. With him are his children Fred (17), Katherine (15), and Benjamin (14), all born in Richland County.
His WWII Draft registration in 1942 lists his birthplace as Marock, Hungary, and his wife is Flora, and he was working for the Tappan Stove Co. while living on Wayne St in Mansfield. And that he was not naturalized.
He then received his citizenship at the Mansfield courthouse on 4 Nov 1948, while living at 130 Blanche St.
Listed in 1950 as a maintenance man (66, Austria Hungary) in a gas stove factory, with his wife Flora (54, Austria Hungary).

Retired Employe Of Tappan - Gottfrid Brumm, 83, Stricken
Gottfrid Brumm, 83, of 68 State St, died early Sunday morning at the Mansfield General Hospital, following an eight-weeks illness.
Mr. Brumm was born June 7, 1883 in Yugoslavia, living here since 1907. He was a retired employe of the Tappan Co. and a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, 1332 Middle Bellville Rd.
Surviving are his wife, Flora Weiss Brumm, four sons, Godfrey Brumm, of 291 Redwood Rd, John Brumm, of Park Avenue East Rd, Fred Brumm, of 1947 Clifwood Dr, and Benjamin Brumm, of Bellville; six daughters, Mrs. Michael Dinger, of Walker Lake Rd, Mrs. Eugene Wehinger of Ridge Rd, Mrs. Walter Sedwick, of Park Avenue East Rd, Mrs. Richard Swanger, of Massillon, Mrs. Dwight Littleton, of Butler, and Mrs. Raymond Wells of Fredericktown; 33 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Barbara Kautzman, of Medina.
The body is at the Wappner Funeral Home where friends may call starting this evening. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, 1332 Middle Bellville Rd. Burial will be in the Mansfield Cemetery.
Flora received his $4,500 estate at the time of his death.
