Adelaphine E. ‘Dellie’ Thornton, 84, of High Street, Homer, passed away following a brief illness on October 29, 2020.
Dellie was born August 11, 1936, a daughter of the late Maynard and Adelaide Greenwood Wells. She was a 1956 graduate of Homer Academy.
She had worked for several years as a receptionist at Green Thumb and the Department of Labor in Cortland.
Dellie is survived by her five children, Timothy B. Thornton of Virgil; Susan C. Moscicki of Little York; Todd L. Thornton of Homer; Scott A. Thornton of Homer and Jason E. (Christina) Thornton of Uniontown, OH. Her brother, Maynard (Patricia) Wells of Dryden; sister-in-law, Rose Wells of Truxton; her grandchildren, Troy, Tabitha, Chrissy, Stacey, Jonathan, Xavier, Tyler and Kylie as well as several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her brother, Kenneth ‘Bud’ Wells predeceased her.
Calling hours will be held at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, on Thursday from Noon – 2:00 p.m. We will be following NY State COVID-19 Guidelines. Masks must be worn at all times; social distancing practices will also be in place. During the funeral home visitation only a certain number of visitors will be allowed in the funeral home chapel at a time, so please be patient and prepared to wait outside.
