[Obituary]
NORMAL - Berenice E. Pomerenke, 95, of 505 N. Adelaide St., Normal, and formerly of Wenona, died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 21, 2008) at her home.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Normal, with the Rev. Marty Eckert officiating. Burial will be in Wenona Cemetery. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona, is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Pomerenke was born in Mount Erie, on Jan. 17, 1913, to John and Elma Andrews Wells. She married Paul Pomerenke in 1939.
She was a bookkeeper at Allen Lumber Co., and Beatrice Foods, both in Wenona. Mrs. Pomerenke was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Normal, RSVP Quilters Group and Short Term Volunteer Assignment.
Her hobbies included traveling, sewing and quilting.
She is survived by one daughter, Paula Pomerenke of Normal; and one sister, Ethelyn Carlson of Varna.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997 and three sisters.
