Azel R. Wells, 59, 514 E. Third St, died in his home Sunday night. He was born June 8, 1894 in Atlanta, the son of John and Jeanette Hauger Wells. He moved to Dixon 31 years ago and had worked as a repairman in Reynolds wire mill since that time.
Survivors are his mother, 319 W Chamberlin St; five brothers, Ira and Samuel, Dixon; Warren, Franklin Grove; Clyde, Harmon, and John, Ridott; four sisters, Mrs. W. B. Dusing, Polo; Mrs. Joseph McMahon, Tonica; Clare Wells, Dixon; and Mrs. Leslie Buck, Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his father, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Buckley-Staples funeral home with the Rev. Donald Littlejohn of the Christian church officiating. Burial will be in Walnut cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home.
His estate of $11,000 was to be divided equally between Winifred Wells, his sister-in-law and her two children.
