Donna J. Wilhelm 63, of rural Wabash, Indiana lost her battle with cancer at 5:07 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, after a 2 month illness. She was born December 23, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Donald Sternaman and Evelyn (Wells) Hardin. Donna married David Wilhelm in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 29, 1969. She was a 1964 graduate of Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Ball State. Donna was a teacher 40 years, having taught 1 year at Westlake Elementary in Indianapolis. She is survived by husband, David M. Wilhelm of Wabash; two sons, Michael (Laurie) Wilhelm of Muncie, IN, Matthew (Elizabeth) Wilhelm of Florence, KY; three grandchildren, Lukas Wilhelm and Alexandra Wilhelm, both of Muncie, IN, and Emerson Wilhelm of Florence, KY; mother, Evelyn Hardin; brother, Derek Sternaman and sister, Tina (Michael) Hovis, all of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald; step-father, O.M. Hardin, and her infant sister, Deborah Ann. Memorial services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, Wabash on Sunday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m., Saturday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, IN and one hour prior to service Sunday at the church.
