Misc. Notes
In 1850 he is listed as Wm. M. Miller (31, PA) as a farmer with his wife and children Mary J. (9), George (5) and Elizabeth (3) all born in Ohio, as the second listing after Jacob Wells.
It is not clear when they moved to Iowa, as he is listed there as W. M. Miller (41, PA) with only children Mary and George in 1860, shortly after Maria’s death.
He is listed as W. M. Motmiller on the marriage record to Mary Etta Wood in 1860, shortly after Maria’s death from typhoid and just after the 1860 census.
They moved to Polk, IA by 1870, where the family consists of William Miller (51, PA), Mary (43, OH), Osburn (12), Lydia (8), David (7), Joseph (5) and Jabob (2). It may be that Osborn was from her Mary’s prior marriage, or adopted?
The 1880 census lists him as Wm M. Miller (62, PA), a farmer, with wife Mary E. (52, OH) and children Lydia A. (18), Wm David (17), Jacob (12) and Samuel (7).
He is listed as age 76 in the 1895 Iowa census listing for Abingdon & Polk, Jefferson Co.
