[Obituary] Morning Call - 1 Dec 2015
Elaine Dorothy Schwar, 78, of Topton, formerly of Reading, died on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at the Reading Hospital. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Mahlon F. and Dorothy E. (Sechler) Schwar. Elaine was a Graduate and Class Valedictorian of Emmaus High School, Class of '55. She was the payroll clerk for Advance Personnel in Reading for more than 20 years retiring in 2002. Prior to starting her family, Elaine worked at Air Products and Chemicals in Trexlertown. She enjoyed playing tennis and was the coach of the Antietam High School Tennis Team for several years. Elaine's love of reading, puzzles and tennis was something she enjoyed sharing with her children and grandchildren. However, her life's true work and passion was Genealogy, where she became a local authority on German immigrants to eastern PA. She was an active member of the Historical Society of Berks Co. Survivors: Sons, Kenneth A. Domeshek of The Woodlands, TX, Stuart C. Domeshek and his wife Patricia of Marietta, GA and Douglas J. Domeshek and his wife Susan Berube of Sinking Spring; 5 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Granddaughters; Siblings, Fay L. Cox, Carole J. Fiori, Linda Heatherington and James Schwar; and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Jack Schwar. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Northwood Cemetery, Emmaus.
