Upon arrival, Sonya (Sadie) was not allowed to enter the US.  She had a cough.  She must have had a cold or the flu…easy to catch, while stuck for a week or more in crowded steerage.  The authorities feared an infectious disease like TB. The entire second wave of the Kartorzynski family is listed on the manifest, but there are lines through the names of Feivel and Sadie, as they were not admitted.  Feivel (Phil) took her back to the old country, where they stayed until they could rebook passage to the US later that year. The Mt. Clay returned to Europe with 2 people on it - Sadie Kartorzynska and Feivel Kartorzynski.
Immigrated a second time with her brother Faisal (Feival) on the SS Stockholm from Gothenburg, Sweden to New York in 1921 as Sonia Kartorzynski (11), and was naturalized on 17 Sept 1936. Also went by Sadie Carter before marrying Louis Domeshek, but the grandchildren knew her as Susie. 
Sadie (37) and her husband Louis (37) are are listed in the 1940 census for the Bronx, as being born in Russia, although their naturalization petitions say they were both born in Poland. With them are Roslyn (11) and Allen (5) both born in New York.
She was naturalized on 20 Aug 1942 in New York as Sadie Domesheck.
