MARY WISSMAN WEEKS - Indianapolis
Mary Wissman Weeks, 64, of Indianapolis, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 8, 2011. Mrs. Weeks held a variety of positions as an English teacher and educational consultant and was a grammarian of the first order. A passionate lover of Arabian horses and Staffordshire bull terriers, she was actively involved in volunteering with the Indiana Arabian Horse Club, the Indiana Saddle Horse Association, the Hoosier Ladies Aside and the Pyramid Society. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Born March 23, 1947, Mrs. Weeks was the daughter of Dr. Bill and Molly Wissman. She married (2nd) Dr. Michael Weeks on April 28, 1979, in Columbus, Indiana. Survivors include her husband, Michael, and her children, Chuck Wells, Sabra Weeks, Chris Weeks and Lara Boggess, as well as her sisters, Anne Hudson and Sabra Beck Navarro. She also had six grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her beloved Arabian horses, Molly and Summer, and her Staffordshire bull terriers, Jack and Phat. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Wissman.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in the Allison Peabody Room at Abe Martin Lodge, Brown County State Park. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Weeks had requested that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army. Arrangements were made by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
