Rites Held For Mrs. Lula Davis
Mrs. Lula Ann Davis, was born at Uniontown, Arkansas, March 10th, 1891. She became a Christian, belonging to the Baptist church when she was a young girl.
After marriage she became a member of the Holiness church she lived a devoted Christian life, a good wife and mother, and a friend to many. Mrs. Davis departed this life Sunday morning, October 10, 1943, at the age of 52 years and 7 months.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Mr. Charley A. Davis, twelve sons; Lowell, Marion, Arthur, Cecil, Raymond and Jack, of Blackgum. Lester, of Marysville, Calif., Wylie, of Live Oak, Calif., Buster of National City, Calif., Austin of Nowata, Okla., Albert of Ft. Riley, Kansas and Benson of Palm City, Calif. Four daughters, Mrs. Madge Marlow, of National City, Calif., and Melnin, Mary and Lois of Blackgum. Her father, W. F. McFarland of Blackgum. Two brothers, five sisters and twenty grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at the Box Cemetery, Sunday, Oct. 17th, at 2 p. m. with Rev. D. C. Callahan of Sallisaw officiating. Interment will be under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home, Sallisaw, Okla. Pallbearers will be Lewis Brockman, Charley Hutchens, W. D. Blevins, Clem Skaggs, M. G. Fink and Charles Cook.
