He seems to have resided at one period at Gravesend, Long Island, but was of New Utrecht in 1693 and in 1698. In 1700 he conveyed land in New Utrecht to his brother Gysbrecht, then stating he was of Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. On 20 Jun 1701, Adrian Leane purchased land at Middletown on "Marvel Hill" bounded by Swimming River and Hogneck creek, from Peter Tilton, a carpenter, but then he is stated to be of New Utrecht (Trenton Deeds, H:41). On 20 Nov 1704 he made a quit-claim conveyance of land at Middletown to Adriaen Brown (no wife mentioned). (Trenton Deeds, AAA:98). By 1711 Adriaen was at Readington, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, near the borders of Somerset County. On 9 Oct 1711 he purchased from John and Catherine Van Horn of New York City, 450 acres of land near Holland's brook, Readington, then Amwell Twp. On 12 Dec 1715 he sold to Andreas Emmons, of Long Island, 300 acres of this tract, as appears by a deed of partition of 26 May 1755 (unrecorded). This sale is referred to in a deed by Adriaen Lane and his wife, Yannietie, to Joseph Stout, 8 Apr 1719, of the sale of about 155 acres (Trenton Deeds, B2:367). On 14 Oct 1731 he sold 153 acres of a purchase made 6 Dec 1718 (not recorded) to Garret Van Sicklen, "land which Adriaen purchased of Thomas Stevenson, late of Pennsylvania" (Trenton Deeds, DD:220, 245).
Named in his father's will dated on 7 November 1720 appointed an executor.

Adriaen Lane was one of the first setlers of Readington, New Jersey in 1711. His descendants are the large family of Lanes who chiefly resided at Readington and vicinity, including Neshanic, North Branch, Whitehouse, etc. For a century or more they kept close to the Readington area. In 1721 he was a freeholder of the Township of Readington (then a part of Amwell Township). He had first come to Monmouth County, New Jersey (a short stay) from New Utrecht, Kings County, Long Island.
Adriaen Lane's farm, near Readington, was one that he must have purchased from Thomas Stevenson, of Pennsylvania, on 6 Dec 1718. Portions of it have remained in possession of two branches of his family "ever since." He had a mill on either his land or on adjoining land which was later owned by John Van Sicklen. In about 1744, Adriaen deeded his homestead part, of about 170 acres, to his youngest son Cornelius, whose wife was Neeltje Langstreet. This deed is not on record. This piece of the property remained in family possession until 1911.
His children are presummed to all be form his first marriage. "It would appear from Van Sicklen records that there may have been none by Jannetje."
