Benjamin P. Sutton, for over forty-five years a resident of this town, died at his home on the St. Lawrence River Rd Sunday morning at 11:00 o'clock following a long illness of cancer. The funeral was held from his late home Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock, Rev. D.W. Hall, pastor of the Advenstist Christian church, conducting the service, and burial was made in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Sutton was born in Louisville November 15, 1844, being the youngest son of the late William Sutton. His early life was spent in his native town and on June 30, 1869, he was married to Miss Catherine Wells, of Aultsville. About forty-five years ago they moved to Massena and this has since been their home.
Mr. Sutton was a man who held the respect of all who knew him and was a kind husband and father. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. F.E. Noyes, of Rutland, Vt., and Mrs. C.T. Cobane, of Massena and two sons, Herbert V and John F. Sutton, both of Massena
Mr. Sutton was the last of a family of seven children
