"Thomas born prob. before 1720, was a 1748 freeholdeer in Middletown, NJ. On 10 Aug 1766 Hannah Van Not md John Pearce. The 1776 will of Thomas Van Nort shows Hannah was his dau. Others mentioned in this will were wife Hannah; daus Elizabeth Pearce; Cattrin White; Nelly Tice; Peggy; dau Aloe Preston's two children; and sons Thomas and Joseph. Cattrin md Thomas White. Aloe (or Alice) md L. Preston. Son Thomas md on 10 Dec 1771 to Dorothy Havens. Thomas and Widow Van Note were in Dover twp. during the Rev. War, and a William was there later. Son Joseph was in Shrewsbury twp., and he seems to have been the Joseph Van Note who moved to Montgomery Co., OH, and there became a Rev. War pensioner. As Thomas Sr. was old enough to have at least five married children he was likely married by 1745. This makes him one of the older children."
