It is the 13 letters from John and his children to his son James (who remained behind in Ireland) along with a notebook that have provided most of the information currently known about the family. The originals eventually found their way to a descendant in Michigan, and copies were given to Eulala Woodward of the genealogical society in Richland Co, Ohio.
