J. F. Conrow Dies At 78
Well known Oceanport Resident Passes To Rest
OCEANPORT, Nov. 15 - John Franklin Conrow, of Oceanport Avenue, died yesterday afternoon at the age of 73, after an illness of three months.
Mr. Conrow was born in this borough the son of the late John S. and Margaret Roche Conrow and was educated in the local school to the age of 13 after which he went to Jersey City and started as an apprentice in woodworking. He followed this trade all his life and retired as a mill-worker ten years ago. He returned to this borough and has been here for the past 30 years.
On January 3, 51 years ago, Mr. Conrow married Lillian A. Webster in Jersey City.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Stephen F., of New York, Major William S. Conrow, of California, Walter L., of West Long Branch, and John F., Jr., of this borough, two daughters, Mrs. Harriet Northup, of Long Branch, and Mrs. Samuel Wells, of Oregon. Five grandchildren and two brothers, H. Whitney Conrow of Oceanport, and Arthur L. Conrow, of California, also survive.
Mr. Conrow was a member of the Jr. O. U. A. M., Riverview Council, No. 268, of Oceanport.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the John W. Flock Funeral Home, 243 Broadway, Long Branch.
