Jacob Rosenberg Stolee was born in Norway in 1875. In 1886 he arrived in Boston from Norway on the Cunard Steamship Line traveling then to Hillsboro, North Dakota to join his siblings. In 1889 he stayed back from the "Stolee migration" to the central Dakota Territory as he had to finish his confirmation instruction. He joined the rest of the family a year or so later. Rosenberg, as he was usually called, had a knack for mechanics and at one time built a washing machine for his mother. It was made of wood and the principle of its operation was much the same as the more modern machines. On Christmas Day, 1900, he married Molly Solomonson. They lived with the Solomonsons where he worked for his father-in-law. In 1903 he moved his family to Alberta, Canada. Jacob Rosenberg died in 1950.
Children: Chester (1902); Michael (1905); Sigvald (1907); Carl; Arnold; Phillip.
