Daughter of Samuel Brackenridge (1777, PA - 1845, PA) and Jane "Jean" Maitland (1785 - 1874, OH) of Brownsville, Fayette Co, PA. It is believed that her mother Jane also died in Knox Co, OH and is probably buried there.
She is listed as Eliza Scarbrough head of household (Jan 1816, PA) and widowed in 1900, with her son Amos and his family.

According to Carolyn Dauner: Was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Fayette Co, PA. When he moved to Knox Co, OH he took a prominent part in the building of the Hedding Chapel Church, where quite a few Scarboroughs are buried.
1840 census Males: 2<5, 2=30-40 Females: 1<5, 1=15-20, 1=20-30, 1=60-70 it appears that his mother lived with them following the death of his father, probably his youngest sister and brother as well. Was in Bridgeport, Pa in 1842, where he joined the Methodist Episcopal church under Rev. John Jackson. Shortly after he moved to Knox Co, OH to farm 6 miles west of Mt. Vernon and joined the Hedding Chapel.
1850 census lists him as 39, a farmer with $1,800 of land with wife Elizabeth (34) and 7 children. His last 14 years he lived in Mt. Liberty.
Listed in 1880 as age 72, a farmer with his wife, Eliza, dau, Mariah, and son Amos.
Obituary says they had 4 sons & 6 daughters, three of whom died before him.
