Misc. Notes
According to his father’s 1845 letter to James Kerr, Thomas sailed to Canada and took up land which he worked for a few years. He disposed of it and moved to Michigan where he married Prudence Morton (2 Jul 1803, MA - 14 May 1857, OH) during Aug 1824 in Pontiac and stayed a few years in the state. Thomas lived in Michigan, 100 miles north of Bellville, OH on the other side of Lake Erie until about 1835 and had 2 daughters (Mary Jane, Caroline Mathilda) before moving to Ohio where the 3rd (Eleanore Bethena) was born.
In Ohio he bought land in Washington Co, about 70 miles from Belmont Co, where he was living in 1845. At that time he was in poor health, due to a fever.
In 1850, he (48, IRE) and Prudence (46, MA) had only children Eleanor B. (13, OH) and Amos Lewis (8, OH) living with them in Washington Co, OH.
He died there and she died in Morgan Co, OH.
