His name is listed as Almon Weegar in 1871 Williamsburg census, where he is listed as a cooper of German origin.

He is listed as W. Almon Weegar (79, CAN) widowed in the 1910 Boston census, living with the family of daughter Addie and selling pianos. It states that he first immigrated in 1862 and was naturalized.
His death record lists his name as W. Almond Weegar, and says he was living in Ontario for 9 yrs, lists his age and his parents.

AGED MAN BURNS TO DEATH
Ontario Resident, 93, Was Unable to Leave Building Unaided. Maxvllle, Ont., Nov. 10.
While lying helpless in his bed, alone in the house, Almon Weegar, aged 93, was burned to death when the home of his son, with whom he resided, waa destroyed by fire last night The corpse has not yet been found umong the pile of cinders to which the two and a half storey frame dwelling was reduced after burning very rapidly. The blaze was first noticed by passengers from tho U. T, It train at the station, which is 300 feet away from the house. When they reached the building, it was enveloped in smoke. A few persons outside of the immedluto family knew of the existence of Almon Weegar, a helpless invalid who had been put to bed on the second storey by his son, J. W. Weegar, who hnd been seen shortly before in the village, no attempt was made to rescue him. When the firemen, and his son arrived, flames were shooting out of the upper windows and the heat was so intense it was impossible to enter the building. Almon Weegar, who was born in Morrisburg, was formerly a builder at Williamsburg. He is survived by three sons and three daughters; William Weegar, O. T. It. illusion superintendent in Allendale, a nephew, Anil Magistrate Weegar of North Bay, a cousin, lrene and Cecil Weegar, of Toronto, are godsons.

In this city, May 20, Levine, (nee Wells), beloved wife of Almon Weegar, formerly of Canada, 75 yrs. Burial at Aultsville. Ont, Saturday afternoon, May 22. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Canadian papers please copy.
Burial: Aultsville, one of the 'Lost Villages', flooded in 1958 for the St. Lawrence River seaway project, and Ontario Hydro's power project. Headstones were mainly relocated to St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault.
