Lillie Leppert Dies; Teacher 45 Years
Mrs. Lillie Wells Leppert, 80, a teacher in the Columbus schools for 45 years before retiring in 1949, died about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lutheren nursing home, 837 Fourth street. She had been a patient there since Oct. 21, 1963. She had formerly lived at 2027 Chestnut street.
The daughter of James and Fannie Abbott Wells, she was born Nov. 5, 1883 in Columbus. She belonged to the First Christian church, the Fidelity class of the church, Saturday Literary club,
Home Sewing club and the Association for American University Women. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Wanda Leppert of 224 Nineteenth street; a niece, Dr. Betty Foster of Terre Haute; a nephew, Deryl Foster of 2434 Franklin Street, two grand-daughters and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hathaway funeral home with Dr. T.K. Smith, pastor of the First Christian church, conducting the rites. The burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery. Persons may call until 9 o'clock tonight at the funeral home.
