Forest is listed as a bookkeeper (37, IN) in a milk company in 1940, with his wife Alice, dau Betty (11) and son Donald (9). Both Forest and Alice had completed the 8th grade of school when children, and he was paying $18/mo rent.

WELLS - Forest William, 5126 N. Kenwood, husband of Mrs. Alice E. Wells, brother of Mrs. Dorothy Elsen, passed away Friday. Services Monday 10 a.m. Flanner & Buchanan Fall Creek Mortuary. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Wells died in his home Friday at the age of 57. He was an accountant for the Polk Sanitary Milk Co.

Alice E. Wells, 86, Brownsburg, died May 18 in Brownsburg. She was born Aug. 16, 1907 in Bowling Green, KY to George Leslie Tinsley and Nellie Harris. She was married to Forest W. Wells who preceeded her in death in May 1960.
Ms. Wells was employed as a film inspector at Modern Talking Picture Service in Indianapolis, retiring in 1977. Prior to that, she was a machine operator at American Bearing Company for five years. Also, she was a member of the Traders Piont Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty L. Garard of Mooresville; son Donald L. Wells of Brownsburg; sister Lena Hendrick of Smith Grover, KY; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted May 20 at Conkle Funeral Home, Hendricks County Chapel in Avon with Rev. Ron Prilliman officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to The Little Red Door of Hendricks County or the Leukemia Foundation.
