Misc. Notes
Son of Fred Marshall and Ellen Schorr; born as Alfred Schorr Marshall.
Fred abandoned Ellen and son Alfred, and they were divorced. Soon Ellen decided she couldn’t care for Alfred, so she gave him to her parents, Emma Reipe and William L. C. Schorr. Alfred was legally adopted by his grandparents in Sept 1920, a year after his parent’s divorce.
He had asthma, and that is given as one of the reasons for the family moving to Reno.
In 1920 he is living in Reno with his mother Ellen Marshall, and grandparents Wm & Emma Shore (sp?). By 1930 he had changed his name to Schorr and Ellen was no longer living with them.
