Morrisburg - The death occurred suddenly on Thursday of Cornelius Arthur Wells, 74, at his home in Morrisburg. the funeral will be held at 2 pm Saturday in St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Rev. W.A. Mehlenbacher officiating.
Mr. Wells was born in the township of Morrisburg, son of the late William Wells and his wife Euphemia Marcellus. When a child he moved with his family to what is today known as Riverside, then East Williamsburg; where he farmed until 16 years ago, coming to his present residence and retiring from active work.
He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Casselman; four daughters, Mrs. Samuel Lawrence of Msssena, NY: Mrs. George Lawrence, near Waddington, NY: Mrs. Harold Cole of Waddington, NY; and Mrs. Ernest Canough of Aultsville; and two sons, Arthur Wells of Syracuse, NY; and Charles Wells, also of Syracuse. Two brothers and a sister also survive, namely Morely J. Wells of Morrisburg; William Wells of Aultsville, and Mrs. Martin Casselman, Westfield, NJ.
