1840: male: 1<5, 1=5-10, 1=10-15, 4=15-20, 1=20-30, 1=40-50 fem: 2<5, 1=20-30, 1=40-50 In 1850 he was a farmer, born in New Jersey, age 52. He was living next door to a James D. Smock (42) family.
In 1860 he was a farmer, born in New Jersey, age 63. Living with him were his wife and son John plus a Charles Smock, age 5 (grandson?).
In 1870 he (age 73) and his wife (age 73) were listed with their son John. Hendrick was listed as retired and John as a farmer. Died at 87 years.
In the 1880 census, his wife was already dead and he is listed with the family of his daughter Mary and husband John Conover at age 82.
