Misc. Notes
Born in Pennsylvania according to 1850, 1880 census and family bible. Is listed as born 29 Dec 1800 in some places, but the Arnold bible and cemetery lists it as 26 Dec 1800 - is this an error?
In the 1840 census, the second family following hers is that of Daniel Icher. Daniel and his wife were both 30-40 and had 2 young sons and 6 girls living with them. It is possible that Daniel is Margaret's younger brother.
Listed as 56 in 1850 census. In 1860, after her husbands death, she (60, PA) had her daughter Barbara and son Salathiel living with her. There was also a Daniel Grice, age 14 living with them - possibly one of her grandsons. Her son Nathan was listed as a laborer with one of the neighbors. Lived with Salathiel in Pavonia after husbands death.
Living with Salathiel's family in 1880 (age 79). It lists her place of birth and that of her parents as Pennsylvania. It seems she outlived her husband by many years. Death Certificate lists cause of death as old age and age as 87 yrs, 8 mo, 6 days, implying date of birth of 28 Dec 1799?
Burial info from grave marker.

Misc. Notes
Name: GRICE/GHRIST/GRISE/GHRISE/GRIST/GRIEST and GRIZE in various sources.
Thomas was born in Scotland, according to his great granddaughter Marie Spriggins Greene, Bernadene's history and Caleb's Death Cert (Oliver). But he was born in Pennsylvania according to 1850 census, family bible and death record. Marriage record from family bible.
He is listed in the 1830 Fayette Co. census with his wife and young children as Thomas Grist -
Males: 2<5, 2=5-9, 1=30-39 Females: 1=30-39
Lived in Fayette Co, PA in 1831-1834, and moved to Richland Co, Ohio in 1839 according to verbal family history from Gayle Snyder's grandmother.
1840 census record is listed as Thomas Grise -
Males: 1<5, 2=5-10, 2=10-15, 2=15-20, 1=40-50 Females: 1<5, 1=5-10, 1=50-60
1850 census listed as a farmer in Washington Twp, Richland Co, OH.
1860 Mortality Schedule says cause of death was Consumption, age 68, married, born in PA, died in Oct.; occupation - farmer, was ill for 1 year.
His will was written 1 Mar 1859 and recorded 16 Aug 1860 in Vol 2, pgs 397-399 of Will Books of Richland Co, OH.
Burial from grave marker in Washington Village Cemetery. His wife outlived him by two decades.
One confusion factor is that the cemetery records list him as Theodore Grice. Also, Barbara Grice Arnold’s bible lists his death as Oct 1st, 1859 rather than Oct 2nd - this is an error according to the headstone and cemetery records?

According to Ann Bonine “the Grices were Lutherans, but the Eichers were of the reformed church.”
